Nevada AG urges supreme court to deny convicted DUI killer’s request for house arrest
Saying the law is “clear and unambiguous,” Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto urged the Nevada Supreme Court to deny a request from a DUI offender’s lawyer to let her out of prison on a house arrest program.

Hearing set for man accused of strangling wife, dumping body in desert
A court hearing has been set for January for a man accused in the strangulation death of his wife, a Las Vegas junior high school teacher. Mark Douglas Franta, who police say killed Marybeth Franta, will have his preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. Jan. 7, 2011, in Las Vegas Justice Court. Franta is being held in the Clark County Detention Center on $1 million bail.
